Sylvia Bodell is a resilient problem solver with the rare talent of finding a stranger in need and connecting them to the right services. With more than 25 years of experience in strategic marketing and public relations in health care, nonprofit and agency settings, she knows them all. These include leading recognized Dallas/Fort Worth hospital systems (Children’s, THR, Baylor, Tenet, UT Southwestern, Texas Back Institute) as well as numerous nonprofits (MADD, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society), faith-based (Faith Presbyterian Hospice), and professional associations. Sylvia also enjoys branching out with consumer goods, retail, financial, and special event planning. At MPD Ventures, Sylvia has worked on accounts such as Dallas’ oldest independent retailer The Maddox Shop, United Site Services and pawTree®.
Sylvia believes in the power of words and storytelling and loves nominating and writing awards for clients. So far, she’s batting a thousand. She graduated cum laude from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and has 30 hours in post-graduate studies from the University of Dallas where she was pursuing an MBA in Health Care Administration.
In the community, Sylvia currently serves on the City of Dallas District 10 Collective Impact Committee and the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District, the Pastoral Care Counseling Center Board, the Lake Highlands Women’s League Executive Board, and is a YoungLives teen mom mentor.
Married to an award-winning medical illustrator and animator (Scott) and proud boymom to two grown sons, Sylvia has an open-door policy and loves hosting friends (from 5 to 50), makes a killer ceviche and is always on the hunt for the best Chile Relleno.
