Please join me in congratulating Talana Morris on her promotion to Principal with MPD Ventures Company. Talana joined our firm more than seven years ago and moved well beyond the role of Project Manager several years ago. We’ve certainly lagged behind in recognizing her contribution to our firm, team and clients.
With any small business — especially a marketing firm — an individual wears many hats. Talana has always and continues to rise to any project, request or challenge. She works directly with many of our clients to offer marketing strategy, to serve as a brainstorming partner and sounding board and to share insights from previous work and reading. In fact many clients directly call and request Talana versus Maureen or me. She always represents herself with polish, poise and a positive attitude. Plus, she knows her stuff.
She has served as our internal guru for strategy and technical knowledge for websites, search engine optimization, social media and email marketing. Talana stays on top of the fast moving changes, new tools and best practices. She is an integral aspect for so many of our complex projects where we need some serious brain power and an efficient resource for those repetitive marketing tasks that just must get knocked out. I’ve rarely met someone who is as quick a study, as efficient a worker and as authentic and caring a person.
For our clients, don’t worry as she’ll still handle the critical role of project management to keep us on time, budget and quality. Those are skills we all need and cherish (unless we are on the receiving end of her polite reminders when we are past due). And for everyone reading, please don’t consider this open season for poaching — though any organization would be lucky to have Talana — as we would be lost without her.
I’ve truly been blessed in 13 years at MPD in working with tremendous clients, employees and team members. We’ve built a valuable, smart and fun little agency where we strive every day to help our clients grow and enhance their brands and businesses.
Talana, your promotion is well deserved and well overdue. Thank you for representing MPD and our clients so well.
